Yet none of that is the reason why gay men feel so comfortable here. Because they all have only one specific thing in mind—they want to get a tan and cruise together. The naturist beach on the eastern side of the lake is perfect for that. (There's also a naturist area on the west side, but mostly heterosexuals hang out there.) For cruising on the east side, almost everything visible works—from the trees to the bushes to the lake itself. Unfortunately, the fun is only available during the warm summer months, since hardly anyone ventures here in winter. Only Stralsund's Rainbow Beach is even more popular in summer.
